Why do you feel this character is a good fit for the setting? This need not be exhaustive, either, and can sometimes be summed up in a sentence, but we ask that you explain why you feel the character would fit well in the game setting in regards to the types of events they'll be facing and the psychological stress they'll be subjected to.

Writing sample(s): This can be anything as long as it is from within the last year and doesn't break the 4th wall (such as dear_mun or dear_player).

Other Character(s): Aaron | The Walking Dead

character information.
Name: Loki Laufeyson Odinson
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Canon Point: Avengers: Infinity War (Prologue)
Age: Roughly 1500

(canon) background: Right Here

abilities:
Physiology:
  • Superhuman Strength; As a frost giant, Loki is capable of standing toe-to-toe with humans, enchanced humans, and has really only been defeated in battle by Asgardians, the Hulk, and Thanos as far as contests of strength are concerned.
  • Superhuman Durability; Also due to his ancestry, Loki can take blows that would kill a normal human and can heal wounds faster than a human.
  • Superhuman Speed and agility; What Loki lacks in brute strength he makes up for in his superior speed, outmaneuvering the likes of Valkyrie, Thor, and multiple Dark Elven assailants.

He also lives for hundreds of years, being roughly 1500 and appearing in his mid-30s, possesses superhuman stamina, and, due to his frost giant physiology, is completely immune to cold.
Sorcery;

  • Illusion magic
  • Shapeshifting (himself or just his clothing)
  • Mental manipulation
  • Presence concealment (he can hide and mask his sounds)
  • Conjuration
  • Telekinesis
  • Astral Projection

Skills;

  • Brilliant intellect
  • Cunning tactician
  • Expert combatant
  • Pilot
  • Marksman

Personality:
Strengths:

  • Adaptable and tactically minded; What could possibly be Loki's greatest strength is his capacity to adapt to any situation quickly and nearly flawlessly. His analytical mind is capable of quickly analyzing a new situation from a variety of angles in order to best see where one might slip into the established organization and how he might best use that situation to his advantage. His moral compass is as flexible as his adaptability, giving him the flexibility to do what is necessary to accomplish his goals without the burden of conscience, often allowing the ends to justify the means. He tends toward seeing the big picture, and had a talent for finding the strings time different things together and figuring out exactly how those may be tied to get an intended result, such as figuring out just the thing someone wants to hear, it exactly what will set someone off and in what direction they'd need to be pointed to assure the dominos fall in the right direction.
  • Charismatic; Nicknames even from a young age as "the silver tongue" and the "prince of liars," Loki has always had a talent for honored words, preferring to talk his way into and out of most high-risk situations. His adaptable nature plays into his charisma as well, allowing him to easily shift his manner of speech and even seeming interests to best suit those he's attempting to charm. Not all of his charm is an act, of course. Loki possesses a jovial sense of humor, teasing and playful, and he enjoys an innocent jape as much as he does actual trickery, easing tension with a witty and at times bitingly callous levity.

Weaknesses:

  • Inferiority complex; Partially due to how he was raised, Loki has always seen himself as in competition with his older brother Thor, who was more liked, more physically strong, and more loved by their people than Loki. This need to be better than Thor, to be seen as an equal to him, has been used to manipulate him in the past, and can still be used to get him to do things he wouldn't normally. He has a desire for adoration and praise to the point of people pleasing and manipulation as well and he's more likely do something if there's some form of reward involved, even if it's just the acknowledgment of his involvement.
  • Opportunistic; To the point of self-serving. Loyalty is, by far, not unknown to him, and he loves his brother and his people, but if an opportunity presents itself that could benefit him deeply, it's not guaranteed he'll side with his people or his brother. He would, without the influence of the mind stone, draw the line at the mass murder of innocents, though.
  • Overconfident; For all his calculation, scheming, and trickery, it could be said Loki's Achilles heel is his own hubris. He truly believes himself a manipulative mastermind and often overlooks others' ability to read his intentions or thwart his plans. It could even be said his most common downfall his own assumption others will only figure out his deceptions after it's too late for anything to be done about them. In his defense, of course, he's been right about that before.
  • Mischievous nature; Even when not deceiving others to do his bidding, his capriciousness and being easily bored can get him into trouble, as he's prone to jokes, tricks, and even innocent misdirection to amuse himself (and others). It gets him on peoples' bad sides more often than not as people are left to question whose side he's on.

Why do you feel this character is a good fit for the setting? Loki is infinitely adaptable, and his inquisitive nature is going to get himself and anyone who decides to help him in a lot of trouble. Also, he's going to *hate* it.
